AI Data Processing

Caloa AI uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized nutrition insights. Here's how your data is processed:

Voice Recordings

Voice recordings are processed in real-time to extract meal information and are immediately deleted after processing. We do not store audio recordings.

Photo Analysis

Meal photos are processed using AI to identify food items and estimate nutritional content. Images are temporarily stored for processing and deleted within 24 hours unless you choose to save them to your meal history.

Personalization

Your health profile, dietary preferences, and meal history are used to generate personalized recommendations. AI processing occurs on secure cloud servers (Google Cloud Platform). AI-generated insights are stored in your account for your reference.

AI Live Sessions

Our AI Live feature enables real-time voice and video conversations with our AI nutrition assistant:

  • Audio is streamed to Google Cloud servers for real-time speech processing and AI responses
  • Video frames from your camera can be streamed for real-time food recognition and guidance
  • Session transcripts (text summaries) are stored in your account for reference
  • Audio and video recordings are NOT stored - they are processed in real-time and immediately discarded
  • Live session usage is tracked for quota management (free tier limits apply)

Advertising

Caloa AI offers a free tier supported by advertisements through Google AdMob. We display banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded video ads to provide our service at no cost to free-tier users.

Data Collected for Advertising

  • Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
  • Device information for ad targeting and optimization
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, video completions)
  • Approximate location (if permitted by your device)

Rewarded Ads

We offer rewarded video ads that grant temporary ad-free periods when watched. When you watch a rewarded ad, we use server-side verification to confirm completion and grant rewards securely.

Opting Out of Personalized Ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising:

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable for Caloa AI
  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS devices, we request your permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

If you allow tracking: We may use your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to deliver personalized ads and measure ad effectiveness.

If you deny tracking: You will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your activity across other apps and websites. Your experience with Caloa AI will not be affected.

You can change your tracking preference at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect your consent before showing personalized advertisements, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
